Who We Are
Founded in 1996 with the start-up of the Plant in Calvert City, KY, Cymetech has
grown to be one of the world's leading suppliers of ultra-high purity
Dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) products for diverse chemical markets and end uses.
Headquartered in Houston, TX with its Plant in Calvert City, KY, Cymetech has sales
in strategic markets across the United States and throughout the world.
The core strength of Cymetech is a strong commitment to provide customers with
unsurpassed customer service and superior product quality and consistency that help
customers improve their productivity and enhance their finished product properties in
applications using Dicyclopentadiene.
Cymetech sells directly to customers within the United States. For sales outside the
United States, local Sojitz offices are the distributors of Cymetech's products.
Cymetech began operation in 1996 as a business of the B.F. Goodrich Co., when it
began production of purified DCPD monomer for Goodrich's Poly-DCPD business.
In March 2000, Goodrich and a private company established a joint venture for the
ultra-high purity Dicyclopentadiene and Poly-DCPD businesses. In March 2002,
Noveon (previously the chemical division of B. F. Goodrich) divested its interest in
the joint venture company, and Cymetech began operating as an independent,
privately owned company. In September 2004, Cymetech divested its interest in the
Poly-DCPD business to Materia Inc.
In June 2008, Cymetech was acquired by the Sojitz Group. Sojitz Corporation is
headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and has 96 offices, 470 subsidiaries, and 15,963
